The following syntax is used througout this handbook:
Parts of a file name enclosed in parenthesis and a leading '$' are replaced by the name of the current module or class, just like a makro in a makefile.
Parameters displayed like this are placeholders only and are to be replaced by actual values.
Items in sqare brackets are optional.
